Why wait for March Madness? Time to get your bracket on for the real game: Who will make it to the Final Four of the NCAA (National Credit Apocalypse Abyss)?
Below is a bracket I've received showing the "winners" so far: Citigroup beat Wachovia and is next scheduled to play the winner of the Goldman Sachs-Berkshire Hathaway contest (I think we know who's going to win there).
Wells Fargo got a "buy" week, meaning it will go up against the Federal Reserve, which already beat AIG (but did it really?). Sure, the spelling is a little loose here, but so is the game (Barclays is "Barklays" which could be mistaken for Charles "Barkley" the Round Mound of Rebound).
Players who've made it into the Elite Eight so far include Bank of America, beating Merrill Lynch, FHFA after beating Fannie Mae, and JP Morgan Chase with its victory over WaMu. Personally, I'm putting my money on The Queen of England, though she has to get past Lloyds of London and that will be one tough fight.
