The "Governator" On Bailout Bill: Not Out Of Woods Yet
Posted By:Jane Wells
Topics:Republicans | Democrats | Economy (U.S.)
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke with reporters after the House passed the bailout package (or whatever you want to call it).
Earlier today he sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson warning that California may have to ask the Feds for a $7 billion loan if the state can't get short-term funding from banks.
Perhaps this wasn't so much a plea for money (though California is allegedly running out of cash), but a way to pressure the California Congressional delegation to vote "yes" on the bailout. Monday, during the first vote, about half the state's Democrats and half the Republicans voted 'no.' Video clip is Schwarzenegger's reaction.
