Your First Move For Thursday October 9th

This isn't our typical Fast Money Final Trade but then the market right now is anything but typical!

First the bad news. Over the past 12 months, more than $12.4 trillion of global stock market wealth has been wiped out, according to the market capitalization loss on MSCI's main world equity index.

And more than a third of that loss -- about $4.6 trillion -- has occurred in just the past three weeks since credit market turmoil deepened following the bankruptcy of U.S. investment bank Lehman Brothers.

Now the good news. Despite the credit crisis there are still trades to be had. Here's how the Fast Money traders recommend playing this tape.

I like Staples [SPLS  Loading...      ()   ], Burlington Northern  [BNI  Loading...      ()   ] and McDonalds [MCD  Loading...      ()   ], says Jeff Macke. And I’m staying away from the car makers and airlines.

Look at Intel [INTC  Loading...      ()   ], adds Guy Adami. It’s trading at its lowest levels since October of ’96.

I like Diageo [DEO  Loading...      ()   ] and Phillip Morris [PM  Loading...      ()   ] for good cash flow, says Karen Finerman. And I’m watching the food space and the grocery space.

In this volatile market I’m going with Charles Schwab [SCHW  Loading...      ()   ] which should profit from volume, Pete Najarian says.
