Carmen Clarifies on Cable: Don’t Cut the Cord
Topics:On the Money | Personal Finance
On Monday’s show, Carmen made a money-saving suggestion that involved getting rid of your cable altogether. One of our e-mailers put it best: "You must be crazy to get rid of cable! The only things getting my husband through the economy right now are football games and the History Channel."
What Carmen meant was that, for many folks, a premium cable bill can cost $100 more than basic cable. That can be a big area of savings if you’re feeling strapped. But unless you’re about to lose your home, she wouldn’t suggest cutting the basic cord.
