Diamond Foods CEO Michael Mendes is hoping you reach for his company's nuts and nut-based snacks. His goal is to offer consumers both portability and flavor while at the same time stealing the younger demographic from Planters. And Mendes is not afraid to compete with General Mills either.

"This one is working in a very tough environment," Cramer said.
