To give investors an edge in this volatile and uncertain market, CNBC asked the pros for their best stock picks now.

The Case for Kraft

“Right now what’s happening with Kraft [KFT  Loading...      ()   ] is on many of their branded categories – the convenient meal category, for instance – they’re doing just great on volume terms, they’re getting the benefit of overseas, integrating an acquisition there, and with regard to their trade-down-risk category, their commodity prices are coming down and that should alleviate some of the pressure.”

David Palmer, UBS Senior Restaurant Analyst

Investing for the Long Term

"As a long-term investor, if you think about normalized P/Es being mid-teens multiples, if you think about growth having been deferred a couple of years, rather than eliminated, if we see stocks getting back up to 15 times earnings, and seeing earnings recover in a couple of years, there are lots of companies that that would create a double in price from today's levels."

Bill Nygren, Oakmark Fund Portfolio Manager
