Pioneer wins patent case against Samsung
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Pioneer Corp. announced Wednesday that it has won a $59.3 million patent infringement suit against Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. and two affiliated companies.
Tokyo-based Pioneer filed the lawsuit in 2006, claiming the plasma televisions manufactured by Samsung infringe on two patents held by Pioneer.
The case was decided by a jury in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas.
A representative from Seoul-based Samsung was not immediately available to comment.
