Contract talks extended with Cooper Tire and union
FINDLAY, Ohio - Cooper Tire & Rubber Company said Friday that it has extended the contract with USW Local 207L through Nov. 21 to allow for continued contract discussion with the labor group.
The contract was set to expire on October 31.
Production will continue as planned at its Ohio tire manufacturing facility during the extension period. The plant, which opened in 1917, is a union shop with 1,100 workers.
USW Local 207L President Rod Nelson said, "We are working toward a conclusion that balances what's good for the company along with the needs of our workers. So far, both sides are talking candidly about the company's situation and are working together to resolve the issues."
