WASHINGTON - Fluor Corp. spent $270,202 in the third quarter to lobby on transportation, nuclear energy, labor, defense and antitrust issues, according to a recent disclosure form.

The Irving, Texas-based engineering and construction company lobbied on issues related to funding for nuclear plants, trade with China and general trade matters, the U.S. policy toward Libya, monitored labor legislation and more.

In the July-September period, Fluor lobbied Congress on transportation projects in California and Virginia, the Defense Department about reconstruction in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the Department of Energy about nuclear facilities, according to the form filed Oct. 17 with the House clerk's office.

Howie Lind, who was special assistant to the director of Iraq reconstruction for the Secretary of the Army, was among those registered to lobby for Fluor.
