BELLEVUE, Wash. - Puget Sound Energy says it has completed a $44 million expansion of a natural gas storage reservoir in Lewis County.

The utility says the Jackson Prairie underground facility supplements the pipeline system to help meet peak demands for natural gas on cold days.

The 3,200-acre reservoir was first developed in the 1960s. It now can store 23 billion cubic feet of natural gas. PSE owns Jackson Prairie jointly with the Avista utility and the Williams pipeline company.
