ATHENS, Greece - Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company SA said Wednesday its third-quarter profit was flat on the year as sales in key markets were hit by the global economic crisis and poor weather.
The company reported a net profit of 212.8 million euros ($272.81 million), barely down from 213 million euros ($273.07 million) in the same period last year. It said net profit for the first nine months of 2008 fell by 3 percent, from 434.7 million ($557.29 million) euros in 2007 to 422.4 million ($541.52 million) euros.
CCHBC is one of the world's largest Coke bottlers and has operations in 28 countries.
Third-quarter net revenue rose by 9 percent to 2.07 billion euros ($2.65 billion), while for the first nine months of 2008 it increased by 8 percent to 5.38 billion euros ($6.9 billion), the company said.
