Which Hedge Funds Are In Trouble?

Tuesday, 11 Nov 2008 | 8:44 PM ET

Hedge Funds will finally show their hands as they are set to release updated holdings information this week. This information could shed some light on whether forced liquidations plagued hedge funds exacerbating the troubles in "Black October". It should also give a clearer picture as to what positions have changed since then.

Karen Finerman's Hedge Funds to Watch This Filing Season:

- Citadel Investment Group
- Atticus Capital
- Harbinger Capital Partners
- Pershing Square Capital Management

Stocks to Watch During Filing Season:

- U.S. Steel
- MasterCard
- Freeport McMoran
- Cleveland Cliffs
- Alpha Natural Resources Resources

Guy Adami sees good news on the way. He believes that although there are still redemptions to come, we've already seen the majority of forced selling from redemptions. Karen Finerman agrees about having passed the forced selling peak.

Pete Najarian sang the praises of his favorite "whale" Julian Robertson, mentioning Robertson's recent buys of Mastercard, Apple and Visa. Of that group, Pete singled out Visa as definitely a winner to stick with going forward.
