London, 18 November 2008 - CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, is to sponsor this year’s reception event at the Confederation of British Industry’s (CBI) Annual Conference Dinner, which will take place at the Hilton Hotel in London on 24 November 2008.

CNBC’s logo will be incorporated on tickets to the evening, on marketing materials, advertisements and will be predominantly displayed on-site at the event.

The CBI Annual Conference has been the organisation’s flagship event for more than thirty years and is the most influential business conference of the year.  The 2008 conference, entitled ‘Performance through Adversity’, features keynote speakers including David Cameron; Bob Diamond, President, Barclays plc and Jeroen van der Veer, Chief Executive, Shell.

The conference will focus on the difficulties facing the economy, both in Britain and globally.  The implications for business of the near global banking collapse and credit crunch, unpredictability of interest rates, fluctuating exchange rates, along with the current economic downturn will be examined.

Paul Maraviglia, VP, European Sales Director, EMEA at CNBC, said: “The CBI Annual Conference Dinner is one of the top CEO business events of the year.  The UK remains a key market for us and this sponsorship allows us to raise our awareness and for us to engage with CEOs and senior business leaders.”
