JetBlue November traffic falls 7.8 percent
NEW YORK - JetBlue Airways Corp. said Thursday its November passenger traffic fell 7.8 percent on lower capacity and occupancy.
JetBlue flew a total of 1.9 billion revenue passenger miles in November, compared with 2.06 billion a year earlier. A revenue passenger mile is a unit measuring one paying passenger flown one mile.
Capacity fell 6.3 percent to 2.51 billion available seat miles from 2.68 billion in November 2007.
Load factor — or occupancy — fell 1.3 percentage points to 75.7 percent.
For the first 11 months of this year, JetBlue's traffic is up 1.6 percent to 23.95 billion revenue passenger miles, while capacity is up 2.3 percent to 29.77 billion available seat miles.
Load factor is down 0.6 percentage points to 80.4 percent.
