TV MINISTRY’S JOEL & VICTORIA OSTEEN, LIVE NATION’S MICHAEL RAPINO AND ACTIVISION’S BOBBY KOTICK FEATURED ON CNBC’s "CONVERSATIONS WITH MICHAEL EISNER" PREMIERING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2008
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., December 21, 2008 - A world-renowned television ministry with seven million viewers and growing, a live concert behemoth credited with revolutionizing the music business, and a video game maker with some of the world's most buzz-worthy products are each profiled in CNBC's "Conversations with Michael Eisner" premiering Tuesday, December 23 at 10PM ET, with a repeat on Sunday, December 28 at 1 AM, ET.
As the senior pastor of Lakeland Church in Houston, Joel Osteen presides over an emormously successful worldwide ministry that is said to be growing by 50,000 members every week. Also a best-selling author (Become a Better You: 7 Keys to Improving Your Life Every Day), Osteen and his wife Victoria, whose own book Love Your Life was just released, sit down with Michael Eisner to talk about how they arrived at this point and what the future holds.
Michael Rapino is President and Chief Executive Officer of Live Nation, a company that seemingly came out of nowhere to sign exclusive contracts with the likes of Madonna and Jay-Z, and talks to Michael Eisner about the dramatic changes in the music business and the prospects for success in this economic downturn.
Activision was in bankruptcy when Bobby Kotick bought it for $440,000 in 1991 but, under his guidance, came back with a vengeance in 2006 as the renamed Activision Blizzard. Now, with hits that include Guitar Hero, Call of Duty and the Tony Hawk skating games, Kotick is a leading figure in the multi-billion gaming industry. Eisner talks with Kotick about his past success and looks at how Activision and the industry may fare during the recession.
Charles Schaeffer is Executive Producer of "Conversations with Michael Eisner." Kevin Kane is the producer. Jonathan Wald is the Senior Vice President, Business News at CNBC.
