World Future Energy Summit

CNBC's Steve Sedgwick spoke to Professor Lord Nicholas Stern, special advisor to HSBC's Group Chairman on Economic Development and Climate Change at the World Future Energy Summit Monday.

The World Future Energy Summit kicked off in Abu Dhabi Monday. CNBC's Steve Sedgwick spoke to Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

"We think it (renewable energy) is the greatest investment opportunity of our lifetime," Kevin Parker from Deutsche Bank said at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. He states his case to CNBC.

Governments need to take more initiative in facilitating the usage coal as a renewable energy source, says Preston Chiaro, chief executive of energy at Rio Tinto.
