Perhaps it’s because the picture quality is better, or perhaps it’s because YouTube is so popular, but it seems that more people are choosing to watch video – on their computer!
And we’re not just talking clips of animal acts or people dancing in odd places. Nope, millions of people are choosing to watch their favorite shows and movies on their PC or Mac.

]. The firm posted unexpectedly rosy quarterly results propelled by growth in its Internet video streaming service.
Last month, about one-fifth of the company's nearly 10 million subscribers used its "Watch Instantly" service that lets them stream movies and TV shows to laptops or TVs.
"It's very clear that streaming is energizing our growth," Netflix Chief Executive Reed Hastings said.
That little tidbit has some of the most widely followed media analysts very excited -- we're talking guys like Barclay’s Anthony Diclemente. He tells Fast Money, “it’s getting easier for media consumers to access content via downloads.. and the recession may be accelerating that shift.”
