LATROBE, Pa. (AP) — Kennametal Inc., which makes advanced materials and engineered products, said Thursday its fiscal second-quarter profit fell two-thirds on a "rapid and significant global decline in industrial production that has taken place over the past few months."

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — AMB Property Corp. on Thursday reported a loss in fourth-quarter funds from operations after taking $218 million in charges to mark down the value of developments and land and to account for job cuts.

NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of Kirby Corp. fell Thursday amid a lower broader market, a day after the inland barge operator issued a murky outlook well under Wall Street's expectations as weak demand and uncertain economic conditions persist.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Aerospace and defense contractor Alliant Techsystems Inc. on Thursday said its fiscal third-quarter profit rose 12 percent as sales and profit margins improved.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Polaris Industries Inc., which makes off-road vehicles, motorcycles and other leisure vehicles, said Thursday its fourth-quarter earnings fell 4 percent amid slowing sales of its discretionary items.
