Your Chance to Be the Hero on the Hudson

Source: tastyplay.com

If you haven't logged into tastyplay.com, you have to.

Even as Matt Lauer and Katie Couric joust over who will get the hero US Airways [LCC  Loading...      ()   ] pilot Chesley "Sulley" Sullenberger (Katie won), you can now get the chance to become your own "Hero on the Hudson" by logging on to the Web site and trying your hand in the cockpit.

Here's the link

The catchy slogan: "Attitude equals altitude." "Both engines are out," the billboard says, "The plane is too low and too slow to make it to the airport.  You decide to make an emergency landing in the river."  Use your left and right arrow keys to control the plane as it falls from the sky.

To say this link is sweeping the newsroom here is an understatement. A timely new way to, well, waste a lot of time. No word on whether they'll create a mobile version, but it seems it'd be ideal for the motion control capabilities of the Apple iPhone. I'm sure developers will get right on that.

Silly? Yes, and pretty rudimentary, too. But kinda fun! Oh, and when you land the plane successfully, you're in for a neat little surprise. Watch the aircraft's doors very carefully.

Good luck up there!
