If the opening kickoff is returned tonight for a touchdown, Papa John's will be giving away large pizzas for 25 cents. The insurance policy on the promotion, we are told, was less than $10,000.
If the premium seems cheap, it's because there are a couple stipulations that will lower the probability of the company having to give away a ton of pizzas.
In order to be eligible to receive the 25 cent, one-topping pizza, fans have to register at this Web site (www.thecountdowntokickoff.com) before the game.

At last count, more than 50,000 people registered on the site. A good amount, but a far stretch from the entire American population.
Arizona kick returner Steve Breaston actually returned a punt for a touchdown when the Cards and the Steelers matched up during the regular season.
This is the busiest day of the year for the national pizza chain, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
