Web Extra: Who's Peeking at Your Credit?

Did you know that the vast majority of credit reports are pulled without consumers ever knowing?

John Ulzheimer reveals three little known ways your credit reports can be accessed without your permission:



1. By a collection agency trying to collect a debt. Collectors have the legal authority to pull your report to find out where you are located and to see if you have the capacity to make payments.

2. Pre-employment. Employers pull credit reports (but not scores) all the time to help them determine if you're a good fit for the job you applied for.
