Favre Sale Is On!

After ESPN [DIS  Loading...      ()   ] reported this morning that New York Jets quarterback Brett Favre was retiring, we were waiting to see how long it would take the team to put Favre items on sale.

The answer? A little more than three hours.

ESPN broke the story at around 9:27 am ET this morning. This e-mail was sent to people on the Jets mailing list at 12:46 p.m. ET.

They're offering everything at 50 percent off to "celebrate the historic career of No. 4." After a 9-7 season and no playoffs, I doubt Jets fans think Favre's career with them was that "historic."

Favre finished the season No. 1 in the league in jersey sales on NFLShop.com in the period of April 1, 2008 to Jan. 31, 2009. Favre also helped the Jets finish fourth in team sales, behind the Steelers, Cowboys and Giants.
