Principal Financial investigates employee theft
DES MOINES, Iowa - Principal Financial Group Inc. has fired an employee suspected of misusing a company credit card to the tune of about $100,000.
The company said in a statement Friday that internal processes and controls uncovered the activity and it was turned over to police for investigation.
"The suspected employee was not in a client-facing role and did not have access to client records or funds," spokeswoman Rhonda Clark-Leyda said in a statement.
Principal is a Des Moines-based retirement, insurance, banking and asset management company.
