XTO Energy lifts quarterly dividend by a half-cent
FORT WORTH, Texas - Oil and natural gas developer XTO Energy Inc. said Tuesday its board increased the company's quarterly cash dividend to 12.5 cents per share from 12 cents.
"Even within these challenging times, we expect to increase cash flow in 2009 and achieve record performance," said Bob R. Simpson, chairman and founder, in a statement. "With our dividend increase today, we maintain our commitment to delivering ongoing prosperity to the shareholders."
The dividend is payable on April 15 to stockholders of record at March 31.
Shares closed earlier down $2.69, or 7 percent, at $35.04 on a down day for the broader markets.
