Disgusted.
"Why do you want to do that? That is gross." He has refused to "friend" me, and my 18-year-old daughter has only done so reluctantly, making it clear that I am not allowed to post anything on her "wall". Will Facebook's target audience flee as the social networking site loses it's cool factor because old people are on board? An on-air colleague told me even his elderly mother is on the site, calling it "the Facebook", as in, "I have to go check in on the Facebook."
So, where would the young'uns go?
Twitter? Except the over-40 crowd is Twittering as well. Look at USC football coach Pete Carroll's page where we learn that on Tuesday, Pete was "Jamming to Cold Play right now...good stuff" (at this point my son would be rolling his eyes again). I even have a Twitter page: which, as you can see, like Pete Carroll, I have nothing meaningful to say.
