YOUR FAT-RAGE
I'm getting a lot of responses to the post about the British family of four demanding more government money to live on because they are too overweight to work. (By the way, I've googled the Chawners and discovered they've been in the headlines before.)

I'm torn between feeling mad at them and feeling bad for them (where's the British Dr. Phil when you need him?). You, however, are mostly mad:
Barak P:
"These folks need a reality check as to how the rest of the world lives. Smarten up and eat more veggies. By the way, exercise is free :-)"
Larry D:
"What's so outrageous about this story? This same scenario (typically, sans the fat guy) is played out all over the US every day, every week, every month, every year. ... Free or at least subsidized rent, food stamps, welfare, SSI, free cell phones, and charities too numerous to count stumbling over each other in their zeal to further support the lifestyles that lead to such behavior and results..."
Geoff M:
"--'We all want to lose weight to stop the abuse we get in the street but we don't know how.'--It's very simple, it's called table 'push-away'. It's a great exercise and guaranteed to work. 3,000 calories each a day, give me a break!"
Ed T:
"Outrage? Are you kidding? That's European socialism in action. Isn't that what we voted for in the last election? You should have titled the article 'Here's your future, America'."
Gretchen S:
"...maybe 'The Biggest Loser' should do a story in Britain and make them lose weight. The young girl saying she doesn't have time to work out because she is in school...I worked one, sometimes two, jobs to put myself through college...and still managed to work out...Oh yeah- I have asthma too and still manage cardio two times a week!"
Marcel J.:
"Why is their government aiding and abetting,... well...um ... for the same reason our US government is often an accomplice and/or perpetrator with state welfare."
Daris R.:
"...another sad-and pathetic case that makes it difficult to govern in a compassionate and civilized society..."
Fernando D. has a different reaction:
"COME ON! Has the lynching now turned to people with eating disorders?"
Ed L. says the blogpost reminds him of another story making headlines:
"Look, we already have OCTOMom."
