As of midday, The Nasdaq 100 [NDX  Loading...      ()   ] is up over 3% YTD and the S&P 500 Tech Sector [.SPSIT  Loading...      ()   ] is up nearly 5% YTD. The overall Nasdaq Composite [COMP  Loading...      ()   ] is just shy of being positive for the year, down ~2.5% YTD.

Within the S&P 500, there are 74 companies in the Tech Sector.  Over two thirds, or 68%, of them are positive YTD with an average gain of 16.6%. The 32% that are down for the year have an average loss of 14.3%, giving the components of the entire sector an average gain of over 6%. Because the sector is market cap weighted, it has a sector performance that is different from the average of the underlying components. Here are some of the best and worst performers YTD.
