Robert Pavlik of Banyan Partners thinks a lot of his Wall Street colleagues have it all wrong.

Stocks Rally for Third Day
What the mark-to-market relaxed rules means for investors, with Roert Pavlik, Banyan Partners; Randy Bateman, Huntington Funds and CNBC's Bill Seidman.

"You've been hearing a lot from traders out there that this is a short-covering rally, that this is not going to be lasting...but take a look at what's actually happened in the market," he told CNBC. "If you look at investor sentiment, it's certainly improved; it's driving more cash from the sidelines, back into the market."

"What you have to do here is concentrate on value," he said. "You look for companies that have very low debt, that are increasing their dividend yields, that are increasing their market share."

Recommendations:

"We've been increasing our exposure to companies like Freeport McMoRan, Nucor, Nike, discretionary stocks, stocks that are going to continue as the economy picks up some steam," he said.
