In the commercial for the Snuggie, the “Blanket With Sleeves,” a bunch of fans are cheering on a team in their Snuggies. And while the Snuggie has now evolved into a “Snugglette,” a version for kids, there hasn’t been a Snuggie offered with any team logo on it.

That will change in the coming months, as All-Star Marketing, the marketers of the Snuggie, has secured a license through a company called Fabrique Innovations.

If you go to the big sports schools like Michigan, North Carolina and Texas, you’ll be able to buy a Snuggie with your school’s logo on it this Fall. The price will be $19.95 and will be sold on television, in drug stores and, in some cases, campus stores, according to Crystal Sims, director in non-apparel marketing of the Collegiate Licensing Company, the IMG firm that represents nearly 200 schools on licensing endeavors.

No word yet if they'll include the book light, but they should, because college kids will probably use them.

The move into the college market won’t come without competition for Snuggie. A company called Northwest will unveil a similar product called the Snuggler at the same price point.

For more on the infomercial industry, check out my special called As Seen On TV,” it’s an hour-long documentary on the $150 million business.

It airs Wednesday, April 22, at 9 & 10 p.m. ET as well as 10 p.m. PT.
