Unusual action has caught the attention of OptionMonster Jon Najarian. What does he make of it?

A big investor is making a bullish bet on All-State using the May calls, explains Najarian. The likely catalyst is earnings, which come out Thursday after the bell.
Considering rival Prudential ran about 23% higher after it reported earnings, “this investor appears to be looking for that same magic in a bottle” with Allstate.

Strong call buying in this name suggests people are looking for a move higher. It seems that options investors are still making bullish bets despite the stock's 25% gain over the last month or so. Catalysts include a Bank of America conference next week as well as takeover chatter.
And, in case you're wondering, Najarian puts his money where his mouth is. Doctor J. has long positions in both names.
