Vote For The Call Of Shame

Call of Shame
CNBC.com

This week's look at business losers ends on an especially low note. Here are our nominees, followed by our choice for winner, but vote for your own choice below.

#1 AIN'T IT A CRIME!?

Mob daughter Victoria Gotti's Long Island mansion is reportedly in foreclosure as the reality TV mom allegedly skips $650,000 in payments on a $4.2 million mortgage. At least the bank won't go after her kneecaps.

#2 ENRON RE-RUN

Former Enron CEO Jeff Skilling is appealing his fraud and conspiracy convictions all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, blaming his guilty verdicts, in part, on hostile media coverage.

#3 HASTA LA VISTA, MAYBE?

California is in such a shameful STATE financially that the Governor may sell off landmarks like the LA Coliseum and the San Quentin prison to raise $1 billion.

#4 NAKED FINANCIALS

Playboy will combine the July and August issues of its iconic magazine to save money, as profits continue to disappear faster than a bunny down a rabbit hole of debt.

#5 OH, HENRY!

FormerTreasury Secretary Henry Paulson is criticized by some for bullying banks into taking TARP money.

#6 ROYAL PAIN

Burger King upsets franchisees by reportedly threatening to withhold millions of dollars in soda syrup rebates (who knew?) and instead pour that whopper of a windfall into advertising.

#7 THE NEXT BEST THING?

As I blogged earlier this week, Amazon's Kindle 2 and Apple's iPod Shuffle boast new voice technology which displays the emotional breadth of Ben Stein.

AND THE WINNER IS...CRAIGSLIST!

After a Boston man is accused of killing a woman he met through Craigslist, the website says it will drop its Erotic Services site and replace it with Adult Services. The difference? Craigslist vows to monitor the new site for prostitution and other illegal activity. What other "adult services" are there?
