Washington, (IFR) - Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will travel to China this Saturday in his first visit to the country since taking office. He is expected to meet with high level Chinese officials on Monday and Tuesday as part of the Treasury's long-standing effort to maintain open trade and investment with the country. On Monday, the Secretary will meet with Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan and other senior policy officials, attend a Ford Foundation event, deliver a speech on US-China economic relations at Peking University and join Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao for dinner that evening. On Tuesday, the Secretary will meet with officials from the China Investment Corporation and then visit the Beijing Capital Museum for a solar panel exhibit.
