Below is a list of all the US banks that have closed this year, with the most recent ones first.
A total of 140 banks have failed so far in 2009, versus 25 for all of 2008. For more on failed banks, check out our slideshows of the ten largest bank failures this year and the two dozen of 2008.
*The nine banks that failed on Oct. 30, 2009 were combined, in terms of cost to the FDIC. Numbers for the individual banks were not provided. The nine banks combined cost the FDIC $2.5 billion.
