CDC Corp. said Thursday it has seen a 45 percent rise in average daily revenue from its multiplayer online game "Yulgang" since the latest update for the game was released.

The company's shares climbed 9 cents, or nearly 6 percent, to $1.63 in afternoon trading.

CDC, a Hong Kong-based software and online-services company, released an update for the video game March 27, with features such as a new map system and monsters.

Since then, average daily revenue has climbed 45 percent over the same period in the first quarter, the company said, though it offered no specific figures.

"With more than 78 million registered users, 'Yulgang' continues to be the most successful game in our portfolio," Monish Bahl, chief financial officer for CDC's gaming unit, said in a statement.
