Pops & Drops: Bank Of America, Joy Global...

Pop & Drop
Following are the day’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of Coach and Wal-Mart popped while Bank Of America and Joy Global dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Wal-Mart (WMT) popped 1%. Investors rotated into this name which may be well positioned in these times of economic uncertainty. - I like the stock, says Karen Finerman. It's a good place to hide in this market.

Coach (COH) popped 1%. An analyst at Lazard commented that Coach seems to be pulling in younger customers with its new Poppy product assortment.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Bank Of America (BAC) dropped 10%. Investors were rattled after learning 2 board members resigned. - I think it's oversold and I'm a buyer, says Karen Finerman.

Exxon Mobil (XOM) dropped 3%. Oil prices slipped and the company said it will take a $150 million charge in the second quarter related to the Valdez oil spill. - Only one analyst has a sell on this stock, says Joe Terranova. Need I say more.

Joy Global (JOYG) dropped 10%. The maker of mining equipment moved in tandem with the price action in metals. - I'm a buyer 10% lower, says Tim Seymour.

Walgreen (WAG) dropped 6% The company missed on second quarter earnings due to falling margins. - I think the stock goes down to $25, speculates Guy Adami.

Research In Motion (RIMM) dropped 7%. Investors took profits after rival Apple said sales of the new and improved iPhone topped 1 million units during the first three days. - I like it but I wouldn't own it until volatility comes in, counsels Joe Terranova.

Mosaic (MOS) dropped 9%. Investors are betting farmers need less fertilizer after corn tumbled 3% on Monday while grain and soybean futures extended pre-weekend losses as crop prospects improved, with greenhouse-like conditions blanketing the Midwest. - I think it's okay to own this stock right now, says Tim Seymour.
