Fast Funds: ETF Surges 64% In 6 Months

With oil prices doubling in just 4 months and President Obama’s big investment in alternative energy, solar could be the silver lining to the energy cloud.

And one way to play it may be the Claymore Global Solar Index ETF  [TAN  Loading...      ()   ]which is made up of First Solar [FSLR  Loading...      ()   ], Suntech [STP  Loading...      ()   ], Trina [TSL  Loading...      ()   ] and others.

But before you get all bullish, you should know the TAN [TAN  Loading...      ()   ]is up 64% in the last six months. Just look at that chart!

So, does it have more room to run or is it time to get short? What’s the play?

That all depends on your outlook for oil, explains Fast Money's Guy Adami. If you believe oil is going higher alternative energy should go along for the ride. So, if you're bullish crude, I'd recommend getting long.
