KEARNEY, Neb. - The recession doesn't seem to be holding back a Kearney company from growth.

The Buckle Inc. has unveiled plans to build a 240,000-square-foot distribution center. The new center will be used to service and supply The Buckle's 391 stores it operates in 40 states.

The company also plans to use its existing distribution center for other operations.

The teen-apparel company has drawn wide attention from analysts as it continues to perform well during tough economic times.

In 2008, the company opened 19 new stores. It plans to open 20 and remodel 21 in 2009.

The Buckle employs 8,200 nationwide, including more than 500 at its Kearney headquarters.
