B&G Foods files to sell up to $600M securities

PARSIPPANY, N.J. - B&G Foods Inc., which makes fruit spread, canned goods and sauces, said Thursday it has filed a shelf registration statement with regulators to be able to raise up to $600 million through the sale of stock, warrants and other securities.

The company said the move will allow it to take advantage of financial and other business opportunities as they arise.

The Parsippany, N.J.-based company noted that it has no immediate plans to issue securities at this time.

Shares of B&G fell 49 cents to close at $7.69 on Thursday. It currently has about 36 million common shares outstanding.
