HOLMDEL, N.J., July 3, 2009 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Live Nation issued the following statement in response to a civil lawsuit regarding PNC Bank Arts Center (Michael Katz Vs. Live Nation): Mr. Katz's lawsuit is frivolous and not supported by the facts.

On June 3 Live Nation launched No Service Fee Wednesday to make concerts more affordable for music fans in a tough economy. Concert goers who have taken advantage of the program have saved more than 5 million dollars on their summer concert ticket purchases funded by Live Nation and the artists we work with. The accusation that we secretly raised prices to offset the discount is false and easily verified through simple math. In fact the ticket price on these Wednesdays has been an average 26% less than any other day of the week.

In an effort to alleviate the traffic issues on the Garden State parkway that would occur if fans were forced to stop and pay for parking at the entrance of the PNC Bank Arts Center parking lot, we instead charge a per ticket parking fee of $6. Additionally, as required by our lease with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, a $.25 charity fee is also charged per ticket and goes directly to the Garden State Arts Foundation which uses the funds to produce free entertainment for seniors and children. Both of these fees are long standing and clearly disclosed to fans at time of purchase.

We look forward to a judicial review and are confident the case will be dismissed.
