TECUMSEH, Mich. - The city of Tecumseh says it has received a letter outlining opposition by the group Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation to a proposed water-bottling venture that's moving ahead.
The Daily Telegram of Adrian reports the letter received recently follows the Tecumseh City Council's decision in April to approve the sale of property for the project at the Tecumseh industrial park.
Development in Tecumseh, about 50 miles west-southwest of Detroit, is expected to start as soon as issues are resolved to the satisfaction of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
City manager Kevin Welch says plans by CanAm Water & Beverage Inc. continue to move forward.
A message seeking comment was left Saturday at a telephone listing for the company.
