Verizon in government contract of up to $245M
ASHBURN, Va. - Verizon Communications Inc. said Tuesday it will provide the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with voice and data service in a contract that could be worth up to $245 million.
Along with voice, data, voice mail and video Web conferencing, Verizon said the department will have the option to expand the contract to include security software and professional services. The deal comes as part of an existing government contract that runs through 2015.
Verizon shares slipped 16 cents to $30.20 in morning trading.
