GREENVILLE, S.C. - ScanSource Inc. said Wednesday its sales in the fiscal fourth quarter fell at least 20 percent, not as much as analysts expected.
The company, which makes electronic scanners used by retailers, said it expects revenue of $434 million to $442 million for the quarter ended June 30. Compared with revenue of $554 million recorded in the fourth quarter of 2008, that represents a decline of approximately 20 percent to 22 percent.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect revenue of $408.7 million.
ScanSource is scheduled to make a full fourth-quarter report on Aug. 20.
Shares of ScanSource added 94 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $25.21 in aftermarket activity. Earlier, the stock slid 22 cents to end regular trading at $24.27.
