Microsoft names president of Windows division
REDMOND, Wash. - Microsoft Corp. named a new president of the division overseeing its Windows operating system.
Microsoft said late Wednesday it appointed 20-year company veteran Steven Sinofsky to head the Windows division. Previously, he led the Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group.
In his new position, Sinofsky will have wider responsibility for the operating system, including engineering and marketing for Windows, Windows Live and Internet Explorer.
The software giant also said the chief financial officer of the Windows division, Tami Reller, will take on the additional responsibility for marketing.
Shares of Microsoft closed at $22.56 Wednesday.
