Axis Capital Holdings appoints 2 new directors
Insurer Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. said Monday it named independent directors Thomas C. Ramey and Wilhelm Zeller to its board.
Ramey was chairman and president of Liberty International, a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Group, from 1997 to 2009. Before that he was president and CEO of American International Healthcare, a subsidiary of insurer AIG.
Zeller was chairman of the executive board of Hannover Re from 1996 until retiring on June 30. Before that he was a member of the executive board of Cologne Re from 1977 through 1995.
Both are Class II directors, the Bermuda-based company said.
Axis shares closed earlier up 91 cents, or 3.5 percent, at $26.90.
