Colo. union workers review latest Safeway offer
DENVER - Another day of labor talks is scheduled between Safeway and unionized Colorado grocery workers seeking a new contract.
United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 was reviewing a new offer from Safeway on Tuesday, and more talks were scheduled Wednesday and Friday.
An extension of the old contract runs out Saturday.
UFCW Local 7 represents about 17,000 Colorado workers at Safeway, King Soopers and Albertsons whose contracts expired May 9. The chains are negotiating separately, but Safeway and King Soopers have agreed that one chain can lock out employees if workers at the other chain go on strike.

King Soopers is a brand of The Kroger Co.
