According to published reports, the companies have inked a deal to make DirecTV’s “NFL Sunday Ticket” package an app on the iPhone. (If you don’t know about “NFL Sunday Ticket” it’s a pay service that makes every NFL game available nationwide.)
And the companies say the app should be in place by September, just in time for the start of the season.
It’s also going to be on the BlackBerry, explains Rich Greenfield of Pali Capital but it will be on the iPhone first.
Of course, you don’t get something for nothing. To use the app, Bloomberg News says customers will have to pay both the $280 subscription fee for the package and an extra $100 upgrade for the mobile version.

I think it’s yet another reason to buy DTV, says Greenfield. In the long-run I think the company gets bought out or it buys itself private -- in fact, a $35/share buy-out of Direct TV [DTV
