Biogen Idec co-founder retiring from board
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Biotechnology company Biogen Idec Inc. said Thursday co-founder Phillip A. Sharp will retire from the board of directors.
Sharp, 65, co-founded Biogen in 1978 and has been a director since 1982.
He was awarded a Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1993 and was a National Medal of Science recipient in 2006.
