Plastic found in Meijer customer's meat in Ionia

IONIA, Mich. - A small piece of plastic was found in a Meijer Inc. customer's meat in Ionia, leading to precautions at the store.
Meijer spokesman Frank Guglielmi says a customer bought the meat Friday and after returning home found a piece of plastic inside.
The Sentinel-Standard reports no other cases were found, but the Grand Rapids-based retailer pulled the product from the shelves.
Guglielmi says an alert was sent to customers who had purchased the same product.
