4 dead after building collapse in Brazil
SAO PAULO - Authorities say part of a three-story building has collapsed in southern Brazil, killing four people and leaving five injured.
Authorities say nearly half the building collapsed early Sunday, trapping the victims inside.
Not all of the apartments were in use at the time of the collapse, and those injured are expected to fully recover.
The building in the coastal city of Capao da Canoa was being renovated, and police were investigating whether the renovations had the approval of local authorities.
The Rio Grande do Sul government said in a statement that other adjacent buildings had to be evacuated as a precaution.
