Report: Suspect killed during Brazil zoo robbery
SAO PAULO - A daytime robbery at the Sao Paulo zoo has reportedly turned into a shootout with police in which a suspect was killed.
Zoo security chief Wallace do Nascimento tells Globo's G1 Web site that the suspect opened fire at police while trying to escape, and then was shot dead.
He says several other men made off with about $50,000 from the zoo's safe.
Police are investigating whether the robbers had inside information to plan Sunday's heist.
